Barefoot books/songs

It was never my intention to present my parenting as a 'all the time playing with the kids' type, cos I'm not. My kids must play alone sometime during the day and find the way to amuse themselves and they both watch TV, well actually YouTube :-) I know what all the wise doctors and experts for kids say about watching TV but I just wander do all those wise heads have kids? How many of them? What type of kids? For example, duoBRO will not eat if he is not occupied by cartoons. Is it wrong?! Yes! Did I try to change that? Absolutely. Did it work? NO! So, between eating with cartoons and not eating at all, I definitely choose the first option.

I don't want to preach but I want to say that, in my opinion, letting your kids watch TV for some time would not kill them or even 'damage' them, and it will save your nerves to use them in the more important situations.

However, I definitely control what they are watching. Call me whatever you want, but I don't think that watching 'Tom and Jerry' is suitable for my kid - good thing that he even doesn't like that type of cartoons. :)
But hay, we passed the 'Gummy Bear phase', and duoSIS is still at 'Mama voli bebu phase'.

Anyway, I wanted to share something we all, and I really mean all 4 of us, enjoy to watch and listen. I don't know if you came across with the Barefoot books and songs but we think all their stuff are amazing. So beautiful and so suitable for kids. We love the animations and all different styles of music.

I will give you link for our favorite ones but explore the rest as well. I hope you will like it.

duoSIS favorite is:

We All Go Traveling By

duoBRO prefers the one with the train (oh what a surprise :) )

Magic Train Ride

duoTATA likes this one:

Knick Knack Paddy Whack

And the song I love is this one:

Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush

Enjoy!

Tutu skirt / DIY

I wanted to make one of those cute tutu skirts for duoSIS for a long time, but somehow never forced myself to actually do it. So, few days ago I have finally bought some tulle and made one.

The main purpose for it is to be a photo prop, so be sure to read Tuesday's posts, to see how it looks like on photos. But, it is really cute and little girls don't need special occasion to look cute, so they can wear tutu anytime.

The one I made is no sew tutu. You can find sooooo many tutorials how to do it, either using regular browsers, or on the Pinterest, so I won't even try to write one (it would be complete waste of time). However, I will give you links for my personal favorite tutorials just to make it easier for you if you decide to make one too.

Here we go:

1. DIY No Sew Tutu for Little Girls - this one I followed

2. DIY: A Pink Ombre TuTuTorial - you can make it using elastic headband and ombre colors

3. The tutu skirtor you can use ribbon to knot the tulle, and you can also add the ribbons and scrap fabrics to the skirt

If you make one, please feel free to send me a picture of it. I would really like to see how it looks and which color combinations did you use (I know I will definitely make one more :) )

Have a nice day and lovely weekend.

Hot Wheels Garage

It's official, I'm a terrible blogger! But it is also official that having two sick kids and blogging just don't work together! When we finally were finished with all those flues, we had some workers in our home, but I will write about the details hopefully in some future posts :)

I just want to say, I'm not giving up. :) I have sooooooooooo many things to write about but soooooooooo little free time. I really like and enjoy to share different activities and ideas and I will give my best to get back on tracks. And I feel so wonderful when I get a feedback from some of you guys who are reading this that you really enjoy and like what I do. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT! Love you all!

OK, enough with babbling :) I own you one more car activity for your little car lovers.

Is there anywhere a boy who has too many hot wheels cars?! I don't think so! :) So here is an idea how you can, sort them but also play, and it will make an easy job for you to find THE ONE they are looking for, when you are at the door and already late to be somewhere (familiar with this situation?!)

Basically you just have to use a toilet paper roles and put them in the shoe box. The trick is to find a box with perfect sizes. The one we used is 30x24x10 cm.

On the inside of the cover we draw roads, parking lots, fire station, hospital, etc. It is not a play-mat but it is OK for some play. This can be great for playing in the car if you are traveling with the kids.

And when a play is over, park all the cars in their spaces, and close the box. Score! :)

Thanks for reading and please don't give up on coming back here just jet.
